My main philosophy is that every resident should have the right to choose and the communication between the residents and my team is extremely important, that way we understand their needs. Every week I offer a new menu, in which I include a new meal which is by the wishes of our residents. My hobby is dancing, but the thing I most love doing is spending time with my husband and my two boys. The care staff understand my mum very well, are both sympathetic and responsive to her support needs, treating her with dignity and care at all times. Oaklands home itself is always bright and clean, the food is of an excellent standard and my mum has been very happy in the 3 years she has been here.

In the last report by the CQC from November 2017, the home received an overall rating of good. Oaklands is situated in the heart of Waterlooville and is well placed within close proximity to all local amenities. These include the various shops, doctor’s surgeries, hospital, pharmacies, supermarkets and parks. Southsea Beach, Farlington Marsh and the local nature reserve are but a 10-minute drive from the Home, perfect for a day out when the weather permits. Our communal lounges offer a perfect setting for natural social interaction. Our stunning flower beds and mature shrubs offer tranquility and a touch of nature in the heart of Southsea.
